Privacy
This page says what Splatyard saves about you, why, how long for, and how to delete it. Short version: a username, a scrambled password and your game progress. No email, no real name, no adverts, no trackers.
If you make an account
- Your username. Other players see it in matches. Please don't use your real name.
- Parent control settings, if a parent sets them, with the PIN stored scrambled, and how many minutes were played today (for the daily time limit).
- Your password and recovery code, scrambled (hashed) so nobody can read them, not even us.
- Your game progress: coins, the things you've unlocked, what you have equipped, your level and your season tiers.
- When the account was made and last used.
- A log-in code for each device you're logged in on, so you stay logged in. These stop working after 120 days, when you log out, or when you reset your password.
We keep this so your progress follows you to any device. It stays until you delete your account.
Everyone, account or not
- A random player code (like
3f2c…) made by your browser, plus the first and last day it was seen, the mode and map being played, and how many matches it started. It's only used to count how many people play. It isn't linked to your account. Codes not seen for 13 months are deleted. - Your settings (sensitivity, sound and so on) are saved in your own browser only, not on our server.
- Your internet address (IP) is used to stop spam and password guessing. It's only kept scrambled, and forgotten within a day.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for an email address, your real name, your age or where you live.
- No adverts, no tracking, no selling or sharing your information.
- There's nothing to pay for.
- There's no chat. Players can't send each other messages; the only words other players see are usernames, which are checked for rude words.
Other services the game uses
The fonts come from Google Fonts and the 3D engine (three.js) comes from cdnjs, so those services see your internet address when the page loads, like any website. Online matches go through our match server, which sees the name you play under while you're in the match.
Reports
If you report a player, we keep your username, theirs, the reason and the time, so we can look into it. Reports are deleted once they've been dealt with.
Deleting your account
Open the game, press your name (top of the menu), then Delete my account and type your password. Everything saved on the account is removed straight away and can't be brought back.
Forgotten your password? Use Forgot password with your recovery code first.
Can't log in at all? A parent or carer can email CONTACT EMAIL and we'll remove it.
Under 13?
Ask a parent or carer before making an account, and show them this page.
